Would one really want in such discussions the voice of the government
which currently is sponsoring the Northern Alliance, is the protector of
the house of Saud, and in the past has played fairy godmother to the
Taliban?

Prediction: If the U.S. does get such a "seat at the table" it will be
used (primarily)for two purposes: 1) to shelter Saudi Arabia and 2) to
demand an investigation of Women's Rights in Cuba.
