Carlisle group
I thank Charles J. for posting so many messages about the Carlisle (sp?)
Group, a corporation that profits from its enormous influence with the U.S.
government (and other governments) because it's stocked with veterans of the
old Bush administration. But it's important to remember that there are
limits to their influence: one of their subsidiaries produces the Crusader
cannon (a poorly-named weapon in view of U.S. allies like Saudi Arabia, BTW)
but that item is being rejected by "Defense" secretary Donald Rumsfeld. They
may win in the end -- foisting an expensive and wasteful weapon on the U.S.
taxpayers and the world -- but it's good to see that they don't have total
power.
