The flurry of articles about E. Timor was interesting, reminding us about
the importance of not being caught up in the most recent CNN crisis --
Palestine being the latest.  The flip side of that syndrome is that we
forget each crisis just as soon as a new one appears, leaving us with no
sense of continuity and context.
