Powell has lost it now too...
Since when did Bush not give orders to leaders of another sovereign
countries? Maybe Powell should ask Bush to revise his remarks directed
toward Saddam Hussein and some others. Sharon perhaps took Bush's remarks to
heart but he hasnt let his heart interfere with his plans to go on until he
feels he should withdraw. Interesting that Powell is not slated to go to
Israel until about Friday next week, giving Sharon almost a week to finish
the job.
Perhaps, there will be a token withdrawal from an area already savaged in a
day or so.
Cheers, Ken Hanly
WASHINGTON (AP) - Embarking on a crucial Middle East mission, Secretary of
State Colin Powell (news - web sites) said Sunday that Israel's leader has
"taken very much to heart" President Bush (news - web sites)'s call for an
immediate withdrawal from Palestinian areas.
But Powell said the Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (news - web sites) has yet
to set a timetable for a pullback and Bush has not demanded one. "The
president doesn't give orders to a sovereign prime minister of another
country," Powell said.
