Announcing a Position Open for Fall 2002
POSITION: One full-time tenure-track position in International Business

Fall 2002. The position requires graduate and undergraduate
teaching,=20
professional development and academic research, student advising, and=20
service to the college and department. International Business
candidates=20
are sought who also have expertise in a functional area of business,
and=20
who may be interested in teaching business capstone seminars from an=20
international perspective at the graduate and undergraduate level.
Other=20
specializations of interest include international entrepreneurship,=20
privatization, or functional area expertise in a geographical region,
such=
=20
as Europe, Latin America, or the Pacific Rim.
RANK AND SALARY: Appointment to this position will be at the rank of=20
assistant professor. Salary is dependent on qualifications and will
be=20
within the ranges typically available in the California State
University=20
System.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
=B7 Earned Ph.D. in Business (closely related fields will also
be=20
considered);
=B7 A clearly demonstrated primary focus in teaching and research
in=
=20
international business;
=B7 Evidence of excellence in teaching (such as =93superior=94=
teaching=20
evaluations
and awards).
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
=B7 A track record of published research in international
business;
=B7 Evidence of excellence in working with students from highly=
diverse=20
backgrounds; =B7 Interest in international educational program=
development
(research, other institutes, study abroad, or other
activities).
THE INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS DEPARTMENT: The department is one of the
largest=
=20
International Business programs in the country with nearly 500=20
undergraduate students in the concentration and over 100 graduate
students=
=20
emphasizing International Business in either the MBA or MSBA=20
programs. Several institutes, centers, and programs operate in support
of=
=20
the broader goals of the department and college, including the
U.S./Korea=20
Institute, The U.S./China Institute, and the one-year Certificate
Program=20
in International Business. Both the faculty and students are highly=20
diverse groups of people, reflecting the special nature of the San=20
Francisco Bay Area and the Pacific Rim.
THE COLLEGE: The College of Business is accredited by the AACSB at both
the=
=20
graduate and undergraduate levels. The college offers MBA, MSBA and
BS=20
degrees and serves approximately 1,000 graduate and 5,000
undergraduate=20
students. Courses are offered both day and evening. There are=20
approximately 90 full-time tenure-track faculty members.
