FW: today's papers
from SLATE's daily summary of major US newspaper headlines: >The Wall Street
Journal [http://interactive.wsj.com/pages/wwide.htm] tops its world-wide
newsbox with word that countries have now pledged about $4 billion over five
years to rebuild Afghanistan. The NY [TIMES] reminds
readers, "international donors have a spotty record in following through on
public commitments."<
Has anyone calculated the ratio of U.S. financial pledges to help
Afghanistan to the amount it has spent (so far) to destroy it?
