Somebody should do a number on how Krugman's
academic work deflates free trade theory/ideology.

CB: If I follow, "do a number" here means augment and support Krugman's academic work in these areas, and I would agree.

I may not quite grasp the economics profession internal politics, but my impression is that Krugman and Stiglitz are stars, so I am thinking , let bygones be bygones, and jump on the stars' band wagon , since they seem to be lurching to the left.  Might there be a new mini-school of thought formed that a wide grouping of prof. economists might follow ?

Explicitly gear the free trade project to supporting their good recent pronouncements.
