To keep this list being worth subscribing to, I think it's a good idea for people to (1) drop references to individual pen-l participants in headers (as with "Doug the Irony-Challenged?"), since it's not individuals as much as issues that count; and (2) remember that the medium of e-mail tends to strip away all nuances, so that irony is often missed. -- Jim Devine

Rubbish. The attack was on all of them. Furthermore, your point was that
discussion is forestalled when people make personalizing attacks on others.
I would suggest that next time you wish to make that point you avoid
leveling personal attacks on others.
