Michael Milken -- who Doug will defend as an man who was doing what the
other financial nabobs were doing but was punished for being an outsider --
has been making a big effort here in Los Angeles to clean up his reputation
and to make people forget the humiliation he suffered when he had to abandon
his toupee in prison: he created his own version of RAND (the MIJCF, which I
would say failed to attain academic legitimacy) and making all sorts of
charitable contributions, including those to fight cancer (which he's got)
and those to establish a new private high school  which bears his name.
