splittism is all over the map. Lenin and the Bolshies (strictly speaking,
the RSDLP) went through all sorts of splits and recombinations before 1917
(and after Lenin died, then in a more bloody way). Alan Greenspan's old
movement, the Ayn Randites, had their splits. Doug used to be in a group
called the Party of the Right, which had its splits (versus the Tories,
etc.) The fundamentalist Protestants split among a large number of
denominations. Academics get into silly spats that can become long-term
battles. Etc.
BTW, speaking of splittism, I saw the left-turned-ultra-right Laroucheites
peddling their crap out front at our (middle class-oriented) grocery store
on Saturday.
BTW2, how are you doing, Doug, and other New Yorkers? and suburban DCers?
