oh WCAR, what hath thee wrought?
The WCAR has finally wrapped. They stayed longer than they planned, and
they have an agreement, sans the United States and Israel.
The conference extended to nine days, and a number of countries'
delegations left due to the length. At the last plenary session, Syria
tabled a motion criticizing Israel, Then, "conference chairwoman
Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, South Africa's foreign minister, declared [the
declaration] approved when nobody objected.
"The conference shall adopt a report...I hear no objections," she
said."

Compromise language on slavery is part of the declaration. The EU
apparently agreed to term slavery a crime against humanity. The
declaration does not explicitly endorse reparations for slavery,
although debt relief is mentioned.
The final declaration does not appear on the WCAR web site yet at
<http://www.un.org/WCAR/>.
