hate mail

My mother will be proud! In response to my recently-published letter to the
editors of the L.A. TIMES (saying that the US government isn't anywhere
close to bankruptcy), I got my first hate-mail.

A fellow from Oceanside, CA (south of Orange County) writes:

"After reading your letter I presumed that you did not write  it from the
perspective of a professor of economics bit as a right-wing true believer
who thinks that Dick Cheney [the _de facto_ U.S. president] and others of
the Bush administration have a secret plan, based on intelligence that they
are secretly hiding, to save the world from the likes of liberals like
Robert Scheer and to make even professional dishwashers of the nation
middle class."
