Communism and Western Leftists
Andrew Hagen wrote"
Does anyone suggest that the Left of today should issue a blanket
apology for the crimes of Lenin, Stalin, Mao, and the rest? I would be
hesitant to agree. How can activists of today be responsible for what
some of our intellectual antecedents did when most of us weren't evenborn?

CB: Leftists in imperialist nations like the U.S. might issue an "apology" to the Leftists in the former Soviet Union and China for the failure of the Western left to make revolutions joining those in those countries. The Western Left is way "holier than thou" posture toward the communists in nations that did much more for the socialist world revolution than Western Leftists is quite arrogant. It is like armchair revolutionaries scolding activists, let alone presuming to apologize for them. Apologize for your own failures, or those of your national ancestors.
