Job Opening at EPI



These don't come around too often . . .

Job Opening?International Trade Economist.  The Economic Policy Institute, a
leading progressive think tank in Washington, D.C. has an immediate opening
for an economist to carry out research on problems related to the current
systems of globalization.  This is a one-year position that may become
permanent.    The decision to hire for this position is contingent on
receipt of expected funding.  Recent Ph.D. or ABD preferred.  Knowledge of
international trade and macroeconomics/finance required; a specialization in
development studies may provide an adequate background; a strong interest in
international labor economics is also desired.  Strong writing skills for
both research and public audiences are also required; a background in print
and broadcast media presentations is also useful.  The position will involve
research on topics ranging from U.S. steel trade to U.S.?China trade and
security issues, and also long-term research on the relationships between
trade, wages and income distribution in the North and the South.  Please
