I kid you not it is a weather forecasting website) sees flame
war ahead. Dr. Science here requests someone to give a quick
summary say of the work of Moshe Lewin in, " Soviet Peasants
and Russian Industraialization, " ( think that is the title,
mid 60's, W.W. Norton, I think) and/or studies on the Kulaks
and grain requisition , more generally. Urbanized workers had
to fed, but, the forcible seizure of foodstuffs by the regime
at under market and/or even the cost of reproducing the conditions
of life and labor in the fields and villages, was not one of
the more peaceful aspects of the building of socialism in one
