I just want to add that I am certainly not singling out Dollars &
Sense.  They did publish one of my pieces:
?The Political Economy of Disablement,? REAL WORLD MICRO, 9th edition,
Marc 		Breslow, Ellen Frank, Cynthia Peters, and the Dollars & Sense
Collective, eds., Cambridge, MA: Economic Affairs Bureau, Inc., 2001. 94-7.

There are others who have written extensively from a historical
materialist perspetive on disaiblity:
Brendan Gleeson, Geographies of Disability (Australia)
Michael Oliver, Politics of Disablement (and many more books) (Great Britain)
Paul Abberley and Colin Barnes are two more Brits.
Jim Charlton, Lennard Davis and myself have written in the US.
