question about capital gains

Dear Penners - Can anyone out there direct me
to information on realized capital gains -- i.e,
how much income was reported from realized
gains in the last several years?  Is this available
from the IRS?  Is there info aroung that
specifies the source of reported gains --
i.e., real estate, stocks, etc.?  Hoping someone
out there can save me some time searching.
