I was NOT endorsing Spinoza's remarks. Spinoza's put-down of everyday
people was far over the top but sometimes it _feels_ as if pen-l fits the
description. But it never actually does fit that description. In other
words, I was being ironic.

I'll answer the rest of Doyle's comments off-list, because they don't seem
appropriate to pen-l's purposes.
