I had read the discussion, and had not particularly been entering it
_because_ your posts had increasingly seemed to me to be foreclosing
discussion by announcing in advance (in what I referred to as your
metatheoretical pronouncements) that the only basis for disagreement
would be Commissr-like dogmatism. You were a free spirit, and opposition
to a free-spirit such as you was precluded in advance. Hence responses
seemed pointless, the wells of discourse having been poisoned.

Yoshie had tried to respond with arguments, which you continually
dismissed as irrelevant because dogmatic. In other words, the name of
the sender guaranteed the irrelevancy of the arguments.

That is, you had already closed off argument. Yoshie simply labelled
what was already de facto the case.

In the past, you seemed always or usually to respond to content, not
messenger. Hence my puzzlement and my hope that I was misunderstanding
you. Apparently I was not.
