Favorite Lies
Tom Kruse sent the following request. He is not on pen-l, so
please if you want to respond to him be sure to do so directly,
even if you want to share your response with the list.
Dear friends:
I'd like to ask for a small -- fun, I hope -- favor. Here at
CEDLA where I'm working we're collecting and putting together a
short list of our favorite lies regarding actually existing
capitalism, such as it's lived from Bolivia. For example, "free
trade produces growth", "growth produces prosperity/development",
"there is no alternative", etc.
We'd very much like your input. What are your favorite lies? A
short one liners would be fine; if you want to elaborate a bit,
go for it. Your input, while not from a Bolivian perspective,
would be very
highly valued!
Please send me your suggestions to my email.
Thanks in advance-
Tom Kruse
