Bill Tabb is gone: A new direction??
Bill said he is leaving because of the
volume -- in reality, I suspect, the
high noise to signal ratio. I cannot
tell you how many times I have invited
people like Bill onto the list, only to
have them leave in a few days because of
this problem.
The core is that we get tied up in
repetitive threads, such as Weber or
Brenner and so on. I would like to see
this list become more useful by
eliminating this sort of material.
I found the Japanese infrastructure to
be an example of a much better sort of
dialogue.
Also, I was upset by the recent flame
war. Lou has signed off, which was not
my desired outcome.
In any case, I have believed for some
time that we are going into a
recession. I think that people are
going to be more receptive of left
ideas. I would like to see pen-l
function as an incubator for good
economic thinking.
