Politically, he is no different than a left Democrat. For that matter, he
couldn't hold a candle to Henry Gonzalez. The importance of Nader, however,
is his independence. If we are going to make genuine progress in the
country, it will be as a result of unremitting struggle against both
capitalist parties.

 Historically, the working class has made genuine progress by tactical participation in capitalist parties (Civil War, New Deal, Civil Rights), evidence that opposition to capitalist parties is tactical, not high principle.
