Come again. I think you tried to say too much in too few words. Unless I
misconstrue you just agreed with Socrates while trying to disagree with
him.???

Religion, as Lucretius argued 2000 years ago, is the source of the fear of
death.
The rejection of the tedious doctrine of immortality overcomes fear of death --
since when you are dead you don't know you are dead, and what you don't
know in this case can't hurt you.
