job announcement
Dear Penners,
Wanted to call your attention to the following opening where I teach
and ask your help in getting some good applicants.
Thanks, Marty Hart-Landsberg
Lewis and Clark College seeks a social scientist specializing in the
social, political, and/or economic dynamics of contemporary China for a
tenure track position at the assistant professor level. Candidates must
read and speak Chinese, have a strong East Asian interdisciplinary
graduate school background, and have done fieldwork in the PRC.
The successful candidate will work closely with the College's
interdisciplinary East Asian Studies program; teaching responsibilities
(five courses a year) include the introductory class for the East Asian
Studies program and at least two
other China-oriented classes. Candidates should have their Ph.D. by the
time of appointment and interest in teaching undergraduates at a
liberal arts college. Send letter of application, CV, statement of
teaching experience and philosophy, statement of research interests,
graduate transcripts, and three letters of recommendation by November
15, 2000 to Martin Hart-Landsberg, Director of East Asian Studies,
Lewis and Clark College, Portland, Oregon, 97219. Lewis and Clark
College is an equal opportunity employer and strongly encourages
applications from women and
minority candidates.
