They are in the airfare component of the CPI, which has risen at twice the rate of overall inflation, as one-stops replaced nonstops, advance purchase requirements were tightened, and snacks replaced full meals. I think the point is that other reasons for CPI understatement, parallel to these, weren't investigated by Boskin & Co. or the BLS.
