Fair enough. I am surprised, however, by your implication that you would count among the exercises of this right the diktats of oppressive military rulers.
Don't be surprised. Remember that when at the start of World War I German socialists were given a choice between Kaiser Bill and the SFIO, they went with the first.
It broke Lenin's heart to see how enthusiastically people he had regarded as good internationalists put themselves into thrall to generals and dictators who promised to shed the blood of people who spoke a different language.
Why should you be surprised? Why should Argentinian socialists in 2000 be any different from German socialists in 1914?
