Well, since many here deny that anything useful can be learned about
socialist planning from the USSR, it's helpful to discuss what can be learned
about it, if anything. I have been arguing that the defects of Soviedt
planning weee largely defects of planning in general, not jsut of Stalinism,a
nd that the hiatory of the Soviet economy is empirical conformation of
