Re: Young Dwellers of Market Socialism

This report does have interesting categories and grammar. Some of it is translation probably. Some of it is , perhaps< creative sociology generated by truly novel political economic experiences.

The last sentence in the following has the truth in the manner of from the mouths of babes.

"Market economy with total competition transforms everything, including capabilities, characteristic features and the potential of people, into goods which can be marketed more or less successfully. The impact of the intensity of individual labour looses its significance. The conditions of selling, ensured and stipulated by law, became more important. The very freedom became a prerequisite and a condition for all possible forms of social mobility in the search of a chance to sell yourself for bigger money. "

There is a short article called "Young Dwellers of Market
Socialism" that deals with attitudes
and values in Belarus, comparing different age groups. The
writing seems quite uneven perhaps because the author is not at
home in English or the translation is not very good, but there
are quite a few interesting tables summarising opinion polls. The
author is head of socio-economic analysis in the Republic of
Belarus.
