Re: The Hayek debate concludes
If Hayek has won the debate then that means Justin must have
given up on market socialism. I doubt that. Hayek and von Mises
were both opponents of market socialism; indeed, both seem
precursors of those public choice theorists who keep showing us
how attempts to reduce inefficiency by market intervention
actually may increase it.
Hayek and Popper had somewhat similar ideas and were friends but
Popper thought that interventions in the market might be
justified. There is a long discussion on the calculation problem
and related issues by a Hayekian and a Popperian at this
