Frank/Landes transcript available
This is to announce that a full transcript of the December 2, 1998,
debate
between Andre Gunder Frank and David Landes is now available on the
World
History Center website. The debate, centering on their two 1998 books
and
on their differing interpretations of modern world economic history,
took
place at Northeastern University.
The address is: http://www.whc.neu.edu.
(You can also see the new look of the World History Center website.)
The transcript, prepared with care by Xochitl Kountz of Northeastern
University, is given in full, along with a set of photos from the
session.
As recent postings to this list have noted, C-SPAN has recently
broadcast a
videotape of the debate, and will sell copies for a fee.
Sincerely,
Jeff Sommers
