Thus, there may not be smoking gun evidence of intent to kill or cause premature deaths in setting up Indian reservations or slave plantations , but the deaths and torture are foreseeable and necessary consequences of creating such conditions and the mens rea for the UN Convention Crime of Genocide are met.

Charles: To correct what I said above, I don't mean that there isn't smoking gun evidence also, of intent to kill Indians as Indians. But, even in the cases where the Europeans started to coverup this intent or where it was not explicitly formulated in their minds as intent to commit genocide, their actions had the necessary and forseeable consequence of causing genocide.
