Hi Frank,

Good to hear from you. There is some truth to what you say; not one pilot I
know has never made some dumb mistakes--I put one of mine out on the net and
there were others. But my father used to say that "A superior pilot is one
who uses superior judgment to stay out of situations in which he/she must
use superior reflexes and motor/flying skills to get out."

Several pilots more experienced than JFK Jr. elected not to make that trip
just before or just after he left. The temperature/dew point were within one
degree of each other which means likely fog or haze. all I wanted to do was
point out the hubris of this JFK Jr. and the likely consequences of it. This
story is an allegory of something broader and JFK Jr is alas but only an
instrument of a wider allegory and wider interests in many senses.

Take care,

Jim
