I seem to recall that sometime back in the 1970s, William F. Buckley (&|
the National Review &| someone
<br>of that ilk) held a conference on reasserting conservative thought/ideology.
The result was a rather
<br>specific program that included financing academic research and establishing
conservative research
<br>institutions. (Could this have been the origin of the American
Enteprise Institute?) Someone may have
<br>written a book on this - does that ring a bell with anyone?
