[PEN-L:6091] A note of thanks to all
You people on pen-l never cease to amaze me. A while ago, I thought
that the list was dead. Now, with the wars on, lists like this seem to
be the best source of information. The corporate press is worthless,
except as an example of propaganda.
Although I vehemently disagree with St. Max's read on the war, I think
that the tone of the dialogue with him is admirable. Nobody has lost
their sense of humor in dealing with our fallen colleague, and he has
responded in kind.
I often regret that we have strayed far from our roots, neglecting
matters where economists could be of use. However, what I do find is
often so wonderful that I could forget about economics altogether --
Tom's piece on Ben Linder, Michael Yates on teaching, Louis Proyect's
cultural analysis are a few cases in point.
Thank you all. And lurkers, please step up to the plate.
