In terms of the potential effectiveness of popular resistance this
is a figure to make one optimistic. It would cause pessimism only
in a mind inextricably sunk in the assumptions governing electoral
politics.
One caution: The vast majority of this 27% would not be prepared
to participate in mass politics -- but even the superficial belief
expressed in a poll is something to start with.
