[PEN-L:4087] Horace Tapscott

As a follow-up to the recent thread on music and politics, I'd like to
mention the obituary of Horace Tapscott that just appeared in the NYT.
Tapscott was a giant force in Los Angeles; his community work came at
great expense to his "career" as a jazz musician, at least in
conventional terms. Those who want to hear a bit of what we have just
lost can pick up "The Dark Tree" (two volumes) on hat ART. He was
brilliant.
