Freemasonry is said to have begun in Ancient Egypt. Alexander the Great was a
freemason.

Chas: The Egyptian pyramid with an eye on top on the US. one dollar bill is said to be a mason symbol ( presumably generic stonemasons of some sort built the stone pyramids). Masons are a sort of a proletarian class even in ancient times, like miners, no ?
