[PEN-L:3937] Re: Creeping repression
Gene's post about time is important because the Dallas Fed approach
represents such a common gloss. Manufactured goods generally costs less
than they did a half century ago. Is that because of capitalism or
technological advances? Do we know more physics or mathematics today
because of capitalism. Other things cost more or are even unavailable.
Compare a store bought tomatoe with the kind that we got when I was a
child. No comparison.
We could compile a list of the bad changes -- commute time [saying on the
theme of time], to more general problems, such as the spewing of toxins,
the hate and violence. Would our friends at the Fed accept these that
capitalism is bad.
Gene's post reminds us that we need to find better ways to communicate our
vision to others.
