I have absolutely no problems with exterminating the nazi vermin, by legal
means or otherwise.

My opposition to death penalty comes not from any sympathy toward the
condemned men - of which I generally have none - but from the fact that
capital punishment in this country is a form of sacrificial ritual on the
altar of law and order.  It is designed to make the law and order crowd
feel better and safer without actually doing anything to make this country
a better and more civilised society.
