Well, we elected her president of the Economic History Association. (But if
I recall correctly, the annual meeting at which she gave her presidential
address was shifted from somewhere in the south to New Brunswick, NJ, for
reasons that were never explained to me.)
I'm not sure what "difficulty professionally" means in this context...
