[PEN-L:3690] Re: Re: Foucault, Butler and Lacan: "never talksabout what you do"
Yes, Angela, without revolutionary theory there can be no revolutionary movement, practice, action. Of course, not all theory is revolutionary.
Also, I was not counting you as postmod; I believe you posted as distinguishing yourself from that category. I'll have to go back and look at your statements.
Do you think long wave theory contributes to organization, aims and strategy ?
As to what is to be done, we need a revolutionary party of a new type, a transnational party organization.
Some more of my answers you have seen on thaxis , et al. I am for affirmative action, shorter workweek with no cut in pay, Constitutional Amendment ( or other fundamental law) for a right to a job, Constit. Amend. for equal rights for women ( in the form of bill of rights). I'll post other programmatic elements upon request. Also, see U.S. Labor Party site for programmatic elements. Rescind NAFTA and Taft-Hartley in the U.S. Cut the military budget drastically and revive The New Deal and extend it. Abolish nuclear weapons. Restart the War on Poverty for real. Start a real people's tax revolt, and make a shift in tax burden from the working class onto the corporations. Establish a single-payer national health care system. (Some of this is heavily U.S. oriented , but may have parallels elsewhere) , ET AL.
I'd like to see a Bill of Workers' Rights vis-a -vis corporations. Corporations are like governments today in their dominance of individuals' rights.
This is off the top of my head.

now chaz, i know you're not going all 'i don't want to talk about
theory', since you already offered a very concise theory if racism;
but i did - here and lbo - go through a number of issues which relate
to organisation, aims and strategy. not exhaustive by any means. but
what would your take on this be? don't ask the question; give us
something.
