[PEN-L:308] Sad NPR note

Earlier today Dr Joel Rogers, MacArthur Fellow, New Party co-founder
and universal activist, fell asleep on a popular Wisconsin call-in show.
At least it sounded that way to me. Remote, incoherent muttering was
his only response to the last two or three questions addressed to him.
This report intends no malice toward the heretofore tireless Dr Rogers;
perhaps it serves to highlight an unequal shouldering of burdens.

He was appearing on behalf of the Center on Wisconsin Strategy (COWS),
a Madison/Milwaukee think tank that he founded; it researches and
formulates policies to elevate the living standards of working people.

             The trouble is, they do not want anything.
             At least they vote that way on election day."
