[PEN-L:1283] Speaking of Korea II
Gotta check between the lines in those sneaky imperialist encomia:
The Japanese left Korea a high literacy rate in _what language_?
Consider Czech, which nearly disappeared from formal use during the
two centuries following the Battle of the White Mountain (1620).
The depth of hatred between Korean and Japanese students I have observed
here suggests a history of attempted cultural genocide.
