[PEN-L:233] Union for Radical Political Economics - hotels close to the camp
If you are planning on participating in the Union for Radical Political
Economics 30th Anniversary Summer Conference, "Gender, Work, and
Poverty", this August 22-25, 1998, at Camp Chinqueka, in Bantam,
Connecticut, you can contact the URPE website:
http://economics.csusb.edu/orgs/URPE/urpesumm.html
for registration information (thanks to eric nillson, who is maintaining
the website).
Deposits need to be received by Aug. 10 in the URPE national office in
order not to be charged an extra fee for on-site registration.
If you want to present a paper, sessions are filling up fast, so contact
me soon to give me your name, presentation title, affiliation, and
abstract of presentation. Deadline for papers is July 24.
If you want to stay in a hotel because you are not one of those 'happy
campers', here are some good and relatively less expensive bed and
breakfasts close to the camp. Because the URPE Summer Conference is
one of the best priced conferences you can find (price of food and
lodging in communal cabins or access to tent sites are included in the
conference fee) and participants are in general expected to stay at the
camp, we can not reduce conference fees for hotel staying conference
goers.
