G'day Boddhi,
As a sad-eyed square-head from the lowlands, allow me to make one
optimistic point about my home land. The Dutch Socialistische Partij
continues being the fastest growing party in the land and the fastest
growing Sociaslist Party in the world (25000 members now; reps in the upper
house since 1994 and a poultice of reps from late March's provincial
council elections).
Keep an eye out on May 6 as that's the date of the general elections.
This is the country of one Prime Minister Lubbers, a socdem who was elected
in the 80s on the platform of leaving behind him the world's poorest rich
and the world's richest poor - and he did just that.
I miss the old place a lot, these days ...
