web site on Scandinavia
There is an interesting new web site reporting on the Nordic countries,
http://www.nnn.se
It is edited by Al Burke, who formerly published the newsletter, "The
Swedish Example." Current articles include ones on the Nordic Approach
to Social Welfare and stress on the job--occupational health in Sweden.
Part of an introductory statement:
"For a variety of reasons, Sweden has been targeted for especially
critical attention by the international mainstream press and the
interests it primarily represents. The result has been a pattern of
negative publicity which has intensified since the close of the Cold
War, as the eager custodians of the "New World Order" seek to eliminate
the only available alternative to their laissez-faire world.
"Nordic News Network will document that journalistic syndrome by
analysing the myths on which it is based, as well as the symbiotic
relationship which has developed between reactionary forces within
Sweden and the global propaganda apparatus that is dominated by
Anglo-American interests. It will also provide tips on how to decipher
the "news" about Norden-- a sort of Kremlinology to be applied to the
mainstream press."
