[PEN-L:6802] Re: censorship

Mike,

Since everybody else is weighing in and I didn't find
anything else worth reacting to today, even with 87
messages, let me say that if some people find S. Tell's
correspondence valuable and relatively few don't mind it
then you could just as well have left it on.

Personally I did find some of his messages offensive,
some inadvertently hilarious, and the rest tedious.
I had begun deleting them as a reflex.

If I want news of class struggle in Korea and
Canada, there are much better ways to get it than
on this list. Relying on the list for it is like
your average Joe relying on TV for current events
news. The whole point of the net, I thought, is
to cater to individuals' choices about information,
not to press upon them unwanted material. On the
other hand, if that's what other people here want,
it's their list too, not mine alone.

My main point is that it seems to me that Tell is
much more bothersome than the last dude you booted,
so if Tell stays you ought to reinstate the other
fellow too, if he's still interested.

So here I am again criticizing your decision, but
still appreciative of your efforts in trying to
run the list.
