[PEN-L:6715] RE: Conceptualizing Proletarianization
- Subject: [PEN-L:6715] RE: Conceptualizing Proletarianization

I have seen in the bookstores a recently published work by Elliott
Krause--The Death of the Guilds (I think this is the title). It is not yet
in our library. If I remember correctly, this is a study of
rationalization of such professions as medicine and law (I think I am
represing the discussion of academics) and the effects this has had on the
status of professionals and the quality of the services they provide. It
seemed to be a major study, with a great deal of comparative research.
