This has been a pretty constructive discussion and I think most of the
important points have been raised. However, one point that I think needs to
be emphasized is Paul's concern for the lack of democracy in decision making
procedures. An alternative to bourgeois democracy with its fascist work
enviorenment cannot be built without a total commitment to democracy and
democratization of the work enviorenment itself. $10 minimum wage is not
good enough a demand. It's sort of non-friendly attitude towards "women's
issues" would be naturally taken care of with more democratization within
the party. At this point it appears that the labor party is more
conservative than the Democrates on social issues. This must change. The
attraction of a labor party at the period of rising tide of fascism is that
it can be a real bullwark of democracy. Cheers, ajit sinha
