     Apologies to this list for bringing up inside
jokes from other lists, but Doug started it.  Just to explain:
     Adolfo Olaechea is an avid supporter of the PCP
(Communist Party of Peru, aka "Sendero Luminoso" or "Shining
Path") who is currently living in London.  He recently triggered
the splitting of the marxism list into two pieces by leading
a frenzied charge in which he and a group of list invaders who
seem to obey his every command in a Cult of Personality manner
began engaging in calling anyone on the list who disagreed with
them "new fascists" and worse and threatened physical violence
against several list members.  This led to calls for their
expulsion which were ignored by the listmanagers with the result
that a new list, marxism2 (aka "the duck pond"), was created to
which many of the recipients of Adolfo's wrath retreated.
     It turns out that Adolfo is actually from a very old and
aristocratic Peruvian family (on his father's side, his mother's
side are wealthy Palestinian industrialists) which has led to
lots of people referring to him as "Don Adolfo."  He also apparently
is under a sentence of life imprisonment by the Peruvian government
in his exiled state.  Most recently he has taken to accusing supporters
of gay rights of being like Caligula and "Roman slaveowners," and
quoting various puritanical passages from Lenin, addressed to Clara Zetkin.
     BTW, Doug's reference was to the fact that Don Adolfo resorts
to distorting people's names when he criticizes them, hence the accusation
that I was acting like the Don when I misspelled Morck (not a mock!  It
was unintentional, I swear!).
     Now you know.  [Wow! :-)]
